Jeddah Town scam : Interpol issues notices against four accused
ISLAMABAD: The International Police (Interpol) has issued Red Notices against four Jeddah Town scam accused, believed to be absconding abroad. The accused are also wanted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the charges of corruption and fraud.
According to a NAB press release, the absconders include Syed Tariq Hassan Gillani son of Syed Zafar Ahmad Shah Gillani, Shaista Gillani wife of Syed Muhammad Mukhdoom Gillani, Ali Asghar son of Syed Akhtar Ali Shah and Chaudhry Sohail Shamshad son of Shamshad Ahmad.
The accused, directors of M/S Gillani Housing Corporation (Pvt) Limited, had offered more membership than the available land. They misappropriated Rs 666.081 million by promising to invest the money in residential plots project, Jeddah Town. The NAB has already arrested Mukhdoom Gillani, chairman of the Gillani Housing Corporation (Pvt) Limited and other co–accused in the scam. The case is presently under trial in Accountability Court Rawalpindi.
