Lahore: Rangers, police and CDGL raid godowns; seize 2,329 flour bags
LAHORE: A joint team of Rangers and police personnel and officials of the city government’s Food Department raided a godown in Sherankot and seized 1,500 85-kilo flour bags. Intelligence personnel of the Rangers provided the tip.
The godown is called ‘Hussain Godown’ and is owned by Naseer Ahmed in Talat Park, Hajvery Town. The structure is a few yards from Babu Sabu Interchange on the Motorway. The raiding team seized more than 900 flour bags from the godown, while the remaining 600 bags were seized from a truck parked outside the godown. The godown was sealed.
Later, the team raided another godown in Jugian Nagra in Nawankot and seized 432 flour bags. About 397 bags were seized from a truck parked outside. Khalid, the owner, has been arrested and the godown sealed. A Rangers’ spokesman said teams were raiding locations on information provided by Rangers’ intelligence personnel.
