Islamabad: 2 arrested for threatning murder
ISLAMABAD: The Shalimar Police on Saturday arrested two people for allegedly threatening to kill a man and seeking extortion.
According to police, Shakir Siddiqui and Najeebullah were demanding Rs 2 million as extortion from Khalid Azam, a resident of Sector F-10, and threatened to kill him if he failed to pay. Azam approached the Shalimar Police and lodged a complaint against the two.
Police arrested the two accused and registered a case against them. Further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, the Shahzad Town Police raided a gambling den in Sohan and arrested 12 people. An amount of Rs 162,690, five vehicles, 14 cell phones, a wireless phone set and a wristwatch put on stake were also seized. Shahzad Town Police Station SHO Naeemuddin Sheikh raided the residence of Haji Wasim in Sohan and arrested the 12 alleged gamblers. Cases were registered against the accused and investigation is underway.
