Three, including woman, killed in Lahore
LAHORE: Three people were murdered in separate incidents in the city on Sunday. An unidentified 35-year-old woman was found murdered on the bank of the River Ravi on Saturday. The police said unidentified people had killed the woman and then threw her body on the riverbank. The police have sent the body for an autopsy and have started searching for the woman’s family. Mozang police recovered the burnt body of an unidentified 28-year-old man from an empty-plot on Lytton Road on Sunday noon.
Separately, a watchman, Sajjad, (1-Lytton Road) told the police he had seen a body lying in an adjacent plot. The police have sent the body for an autopsy. The police said the man was a drug addict and the unidentified people had burnt him to death.
Separately, a 22-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by his neighbour in Shafiqabad police precinct on Sunday. The Shafiqabad station house officer said Mustansir, a resident of Kasurpura Bazaar, had a quarrel with his neighbour, Mansoor Khan, a few days ago.
On Sunday, they again exchanged harsh words and Mansoor and his friend drew their guns and fired at Mustansir. Mustansir was rushed to the Government Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have sent the body for an autopsy and registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Mustansir’s father, Muhammad Zaheer.
Separately, a 19-year-old salesman of a pharmacy was killed when a security guard’s gun went off accidentally in Shalamar police precinct on Saturday.
The police said Usman was on duty at Medi Zone Pharmacy when security guard, Muhammad Haneef’s gun went off, injuring Usman. Usman died on the scene. The police said Usman’s family had refused to register a case.
