Lahore: LHC tells DIG to hold inquiry against cops
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered DIG (Investigation) Tasadduq Hussain to hold an inquiry against two police officers for torturing the husband and son of an Iranian national woman, Khadeeja, after involving them in a kidnapping for ransom case.
The court has also ordered the DIG to submit a report. The court has released Arshad Javed and his son, Aman Javed, on bail. North Cantt SHO Basharat Ali and Investigation officer Nazir Opal had arrested them.
On the court’s directions, the bailiff raided the police station and recovered them. After checking the police record, the bailiff found that the record was tempered to make fake entries, to show that they were arrested a long time ago.
The court after going through the bailiff’s report took serious notice of the matter and directed the DIG to take legal action against the officials concerned. The court fixed no date for next hearing.
