Karachi: Boy injured in Lyari firing
KARACHI: Eight-year-old Muhammad Yousuf suffered a minor injury to his left foot when he got caught in an exchange of fire in Gul Muhammad Lane, Lyari. The PPP Media Cell, Bilawal House, told APP that it happened during a rally organized by party workers in Lyari. The PPP spokesman rejected reports of any injury to Nabeel Gabol, a PPP leader. The Civil Hospital Karachi MLO confirmed this to APP.

Farhan, a goldsmith in Kharadar who is a resident of Golimar, on being questioned by Daily Times said his shop owner asked him to leave the shop following the news of a PPP leader being shot dead. Farhan had been walking for the past 40 minutes and it was likely to take him another 30 minutes to reach home.
Asif, who works in the Sawami Area and lives at Bara Board said, We usually close around 8 p.m. but today, as the situation in the area began to worsen, we decided to shut our business at 6 p.m. I’ve been on foot since, as given the traffic jam, I decided not to take my car. I have been in contact with my family on the cell-phone.
Mohammad Naeem and Ghulam Hussain were traveling in the Mashallah Coach when the driver suddenly stopped the bus at Old Golimar and forced the passengers off the vehicle as he feared his bus might be a target for angry protestors.
Petrol pumps and CNG stations were shut down but long rows of vehicles lined up outside those which decided to stay open as people panicked.
