Lahore: Another LHC suicide attack victim dies
LAHORE: One of the people injured in the January 10 suicide attack on the police at the Lahore High Court died of his wounds on Monday. This brings the death toll to 25. The deceased was a resident of Sheranwala Gate and worked for a money exchange company near Flatties Hotel. Allauddin, 45, was passing through when the bomber struck. He got injured in the chest and legs and was taken to Mayo Hospital in critical condition.
Allauddin was the second person to die of injuries in Mayo Hospital during the past seven days. The first was police constable Ramzan, 50, a resident of Raiwind City, who died five days ago. Allauddin’s relatives alleged that doctors at Mayo Hospital were negligent and had mishandled the case.
Khurram, one of Allauddin relatives, told reporters at the morgue that doctors discharged Allauddin three days ago saying his condition was stable and there was no need to treat him. “We took Allauddin back home, but his condition deteriorated. We brought him back to Mayo Hospital on Monday, but doctors referred him to the Psychiatry Ward. There, the doctors referred him back saying the patient did not need psychiatric treatment. In the meantime, Allauddin fell unconscious and died later,” he added.
Khurram alleged that the doctors at the morgue and the police did not attend to the body, which lay at the morgue for more than three hours. Daily Times tried contacting Mayo Hospital medical superintendent Dr Fayyaz Ahmad Ranjha, but he did not answer his cell phone.
