Mirpurkhas: 9 of a family freed from illegal confinement
MIRPURKHAS: Police got freed nine members of a family including five women from illegal confinement on the orders of district and sessions judge of Umerkot on Wednesday. The family was detained by a landlord Niaz Kapri at his lands in the village that carried his own name, Niaz Kapri village, in Kunri taluka.
The judge directed the SHO of Kunri to raid the landlord’s property, release the detainees and produce them in court after Maro Solangi, a peasant, filed an application in court requesting release of his family.
The judge also issued a notice to the landlord asking him to appear in court on Wednesday.
A heavy contingent of police recovered Maro’s wife, Mehnaz, daughters Rukhsana, Zahida, Hajira, sons, Mir Mohammad, Noor Mohammad, Babu, Raza Mohammad and his wife Sanjha and SHO Qadir Bux Memon produced them in court.
The judge after going through necessary legal procedure allowed them to go with Maro. The SHO said that the landlord did not appear in court despite getting court notice.
