Karachi: Jundullah suspects remanded
KARACHI: Administrative Judge of the Special Anti-Terrorism Courts, Karachi, Khwaja Naveed Ahmed on Thursday remanded Qasim Toori alias Hamza, an alleged activist of the banned outfit, Jundullah, in police custody till Feb 14.
He also extended the remand of another two activists, Danish alias Talha and Abid alias Ali, till the same date.
The accused were arrested after a fierce battle that followed a police raid on a house in Sector 17, Shah Latif Town, on Jan 29. Two policemen and three suspects were killed and several other people were injured in the battle.
Later, the arrested suspect, Qasim Toori, turned out to be an alleged militant involved in the 2004 attack on the then corps commander Ahsan Saleem Hayat in Karachi.
Accused Abid Ali has denied he was involved in any offence maintaining that he was a mechanic and arrested while he was travelling in a bus.
