Lahore: Two criminal gangs busted
LAHORE: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Iqbal Town division and City Division Investigation Police on Saturday busted two criminal gangs and arrested their six members. According to a handout, the police seized mobile phones and illegal weapons from the arrested men, who (it said) were involved in a number of robberies and street crimes.
On the directions of Additional Inspector General (AIG) Malik Iqbal, two teams were formed headed by CIA Superintendent of Police (SP) Masood Aziz and City Division SP (Investigation) Sarfraz Falki.
The first team, headed by the CIA Iqbal Town deputy superintendent of police (DSP) arrested three members of Nasir alias Mota Gang.
The second team headed by the Shafiqabad DSP arrested three members of Kaka Pathan Gang from Shahdara Town on a tip-off.
The accused confessed to 36 robberies in the city. Around 16 cases have also been traced against them in various police stations. The areas in which these criminals committed crime include Gulberg, Defence, Ghalib Market, Islampura, Lower Mall, Shahdara and Shafiqabad.
