Karachi: PPP candidate sent to jail
KARACHI: The judical magistrate-III, Central, Khushi Mohammad, on Monday sent a PPP candidate and a worker to jail on judicial remand till Feb 21.
Sohail Delhvi, contesting the Feb 18 elections from PS-99 on the ticket of Pakistan People’s Party, and Abdul Jabbar, a PPP activist, were arrested on Feb 7 on charges of allegedly kidnapping Ismail Rajput, a union council nazim of New Karachi Town.
They allegedly tortured the UC nazim. Another PPP candidate, Zafar Ahmed Siddiqui, was also nominated in the FIRs.
The police registered four cases (FIR Nos. 24, 25, 26 and 2708) against the accused at New Karachi police station on the complaint of Ismail Rajput under Sections 506, 337-F, 365, 353 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
