Lahore: Tortured body of girl found in Defence
LAHORE: The body of an unidentified girl was found in an empty plot in Defence (A) police precinct on Monday morning. The girl, about 20 years old, had been tortured and strangled before being thrown in plot 214 in Sector W in Defence Housing Authority.
The body, which was covered in a shawl, was without any clothes. The police got to the spot and took the body to the police station for identification. The police sent out a message about a missing girl through mosques and many people visited the station to identify her, but to no avail. The police then registered a case on the information of Sub-Inspector Rab Nawaz against unidentified people under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The body has been sent for autopsy. Rab Nawaz said the body had severe torture marks on it. He said there were cigarette burns on the girl’s hands, palms, feet, ankles, knees and genitals. He also said there were rope marks around the girl’s neck, which meant that she had been strangled after being tortured. He said the girl probably belonged to a poor family and was a housemaid. Asked if the girl had been raped, he said that would be found out after the autopsy report. He said the girl’s feet were tied together. ASP Ayaz Saleem said the police had tried searching for the girl’s family, but had failed.
