Lahore: 17 members of 3 gangs arrested, say police
LAHORE: Gujranwala Police claim to have arrested 17 members of three inter-district gangs and recovered stolen motorcycles and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from them.
According to a Punjab Police spokesman, Gujranwala City Police Officer Khadim Hussain Bhatti said the gangsters had a quite a criminal history. He said 57 incidents of kidnapping for ransom, robberies, street crimes, highway robberies and vehicle snatching have been traced against them.
The police also claim to have recovered Rs 200,000 of ransom money, five motorcycles, seven tolas of gold, 20 wrist watches, 21 mobile phones and electronic gadgets besides seizing four automatic rifles, two guns, 14 pistols, three Kalashnikov rifles, a G-three rifle and huge quantity of bullets from them.
The criminals belonged to Anju Qasi Gang, Safi Gang and Raju Gang, the police said.
