Rawalpindi: Four car lifters netted, stolen vehicles seized
RAWALPINDI: A special police team on Thursday busted a gang of auto thieves by arresting four men and seizing stolen vehicles and illegal arms.
A press release said City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz had formed the team two weeks ago in view of the growing car lifting incidents in the city and tasked it with tracing the gang.
The arrested men included ringleader Fiaz Irshad and his accomplices Muhammad Adnan Shah, Abdul Samad and Rashidur Rehman. The police recovered stolen vehicles worth millions of rupees, 10 snatched mobile phones, four 30-bore pistols and 32 bullets from their custody.
The police registered a case against them. The four later confessed to their involvement in 32 theft cases during interrogation.
