Lahore: 9 arrested for bogus voting, aerial firing
LAHORE: The city police on the election day (Monday) registered nine cases for bogus vote casting, weapons’ display and aerial firing, officials said.
They said three women named Rehana, Sitara and Saadia had been held for ‘bogus’ vote casting in Harbanspura and a woman, Shaheen in Sanda. The police registered a case against them. The Harbanspura police held Muhammad Ilyas and registered a case against him for allegedly firing at the PML-Q election office in the area. Separately, the Ghalib Market police registered a case against eight men for bogus vote casting.
Baghbanpura, Shafiqabad, Shahdara and Raiwind police registered four cases for displaying weapons and firing in the air.
