Rawalpindi: Two shot dead, one injured at DHQ Hospital
RAWALPINDI: Two men were shot dead and one was injured on Tuesday at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, in the jurisdictions of Ganjmandi Police Station.
Police officials told Daily Times that an unidentified attacker opened fire on 20-year-old rickshaw driver Abdullah, a resident of Misrial, while he was dropping passenger Nazir Hussain at the DHQ Hospital.
Resultantly, both Abdullah and Hussain were killed and policeman Mehdi Hassan was injured. They said Hassan had been deputed at the DHQ Hospital for security. The attacker shot six rounds, three of which missed the target, said the police officials, adding the injured cop was out of danger now.
They said police had handed over the bodies to the aggrieved families after autopsy. Investigation Officer Malik Yasin told Daily Times that the attacker was an enemy of Abdullah though his family had not named anyone in the first information report (FIR). He said investigation was underway with the attacker on the run.
