Islamabad: Police recover three hostages
ISLAMABAD: Sabzi Mandi police have arrested an alleged kidnapper and recovered three hostages, including an Islamabad-based fruit wholesaler, from Swabi.
Police said Mohammad Ahsan, resident of 1-102, lodged a complaint stating that some unidentified people kidnapped his younger brother, Ziaullah and were demanding Rs60 million as ransom for his safe release.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Kaleem Imam constituted a team under SP Dr Mueen Masood to recover the hostage.
The investigation team seized Ziaullah’s car from Wah Cantt and arrested an important member of the kidnappers’ gang, Mohammad Sher. During investigations, Sher told police about the location of the hideout where the kidnappers were keeping the hostage.
The team raided the hideout in Bajaur Agency and recovered Ziaullah along with two other hostages, Tariq and Ijaz, who were kidnapped from Swabi for Rs10 million ransom. A case has been registered against the alleged kidnappers and investigation started.
