Lahore: PO killed in ‘shootout’
LAHORE: The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) in an alleged shootout killed a proclaimed offender (PO) in Shadbagh police precinct on Tuesday.
The police said late on Monday the CIA on a tip-off raided at the house of PO Mudasar Shah in order to arrest Javed Iqbal and his accomplices. Mudasar Shah and his five accomplices fired at the police party, injuring a constable, Faisal Farooq, said the police. Later, the accused fled from the scene. On Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Malik Muhammad Iqbal’s directions, a police team of Ravi Division raided at Dera Noor Elahi in Bombay Jhugiyan on Bund Road.
The POs fired at the police party to which the police party retaliated. After a few minutes when the POs stopped firing the police party entered the hideout and found Mudasar dead. The other POs fled from the scene. The police said Mudasar was wanted to the police in various contract killing, extortion and drugs peddling cases.
