MUZAFFARGARH: A married woman, a resident of a village in Muzaffargarh, was allegedly kidnapped on Feb 22 and sold to a third party for Rs40,000 and is still in the clutches of her alleged buyers, her family told Dawn on Sunday. They alleged that two union council nazims were pressuring them not to approach police or rights activists for the recovery of the woman.

DADU: Unidentified armed men shot dead Zafar Brohi, brother of a local leader of Pakistan People’s Party leader Ghulam Mustafa Brohi, in a poultry farm in Qalandarabad Mohalla here on Sunday.
HYDERABAD: None of the accused in a case relating to the kidnapping and torturing of police head constable Ali Hassan Solangi has been arrested although a team comprising three supervising police officers (SPOs) has been formed by the DPO of Hyderabad Imran Shaukat.
KHAIRPUR: Bodies of two kidnapped villagers were found in an area under Babarloi police station in Khairpur taluka, on Saturday. However, no case had been registered till Sunday due to a dispute over jurisdiction.
GUJRANWALA: A man allegedly kidnapped a girl, raped her and later strangled her to conceal his crime in Kamoke and a large number of protesters threw traffic out of gear on GT Road for an hour or so on Sunday. The police later claimed to have arrested suspect Nazir, 25, and registered a case against him.
DERA BUGTI: Militants blew up a stretch of a 20-inch-diameter gas pipeline in the Sui area on Sunday. A source said that the explosion took place in the Loti area of Sui, suspending gas supply to Loti Gas Field. However, the supply was resumed through an alternative line.
