Islamabad: 2 recovered, kidnapper arrested
ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested an alleged kidnapper and recovered two persons, including a woman, who were kidnapped for ransom.
A police statement said on Friday that unidentified persons had kidnapped 25-year-old Nazia, a resident of Rawalpindi, from the limits of Sabzi Mandi Police Station. Police, while quoting Irfan – the abductee’s father – said that Nazia had been missing since February 2 when she left the home to appear for an interview at a local medicine company.
An unknown caller demanded Rs 5 million ransom from Irfan for her daughter’s safe release on the day when Nazia was abducted, police said. Police also recovered Muhammad Saeed, who was kidnapped from the limits of Sabzi Mandi Police Station. An alleged kidnapper Usman Ali, a resident of Malakand Agency, has been arrested and investigation is underway.
