Weapons being smuggled from Darra
KARACHI: The interior ministry has sent a confidential letter to all officers concerned in Sindh, stating that different weapons, including KKsM-16s and explosives have been smuggled from Darra Adam Khel to Karachi, Daily Times learnt Sunday. The letter warned that the weapons were smuggled via the Indus Highway on ‘Makkah Coach’. These weapons were sent by Mohammad Shoaib of Sheraki, a famous weapons dealer of Darra Adam Khel, at different times.
Following the report, Inspector General of Police (Sindh) Azhar Ali Farooqui issued a letter of his own, No. PSIGPS-1167-722008, to all officials concerned in the province including the Capital City Police officer (CCPO) Karachi and the Regional Police officers (RPO) of Hyderabad and Sukkur and directed them to intercept the consignment enroute. CCPO Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui confirmed the report and said, “This report has been passed on to all officers concerned and action against the potential threat is being taken.”
