Lahore: Case registered against unidentified terrorists
LAHORE: The Race Course Police have registered a case (number 14908) under eight sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act late on Tuesday night against unidentified terrorists for the attack on the Navy War College.
The capital city police officer (CCPO), Additional Inspector General (AIG) Malik Muhammad Iqbal, constituted a team under the supervision of Deputy IG (Investigations) Tassaduq Hussain. The investigation team includes Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) Superintendent of Police (SP) Masood Aziz, Civil Lines SP Ahsan Younis, SP (Investigation) Babar Bakht Qureshi, SP (Security) Hussain Habib Imtiaz, the Race Course Deputy SP Faisal Gulzar, the Race Course Police Station House Officer Ashfaq Butt and the Race Course Police Investigation Incharge Inspector Yaqoob Awan.
The CCPO, DIG (Investigations), DIG (Traffic) Ghalib Bandesha, Senior SP (Operations) Dr Tariq Khokhar were among the officers who reached the spot immediately. The CCPO directed DIG Hussain to brief him regularly about the proceedings in the case.
The case was registered on the complaint of Naval Station Commander Mubeen Ashraf. According to the FIR (First Information Report), three naval officials died in two blasts, while 18 people got injured.
