Lahore: Jewellery worth Rs 15m stolen
LAHORE: Robbers on Thursday looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 million from a jewellery shop in Factory Area police precinct.
Chungi Amar Sadhu Anjuman-e-Tajran president Meraj Khalid said six robbers had kidnapped owners of Aslam Jewellery shop from Bank Stop while they were on their way home on Wednesday.
He said robbers kept them at an unknown place and asked them to call their family they would not return home at night.
On Thursday morning, two of the robbers took Afzal to his shop and looted Rs 50,000 and jewellery worth Rs 15 million.
Meraj said the robbers had thrown both the brothers near Model Town J-Block with their hands and legs tied.
The traders went on strike when they came to know about the incident. Meraj said a case was registered with the Nishtar Colony police.
Kot Lakhpat superintendent of police said the police had registered a case and mentioned 400 tolas of gold in it. He said it seemed the case was fake, but law enforcers would continue investigating.
6-year-old girl killed in cable network brawl Stray bullets from a brawl between rival cable network owners killed a 6-year-old girl, and injured a four-year-old boy and a passer by in Nawankot police precincts on Thursday.
The police said a quarrel between the two groups ended in a gunfight. Bullets from the fight hit Seemab and Ahmed, who were playing outside their houses, and 24-year-old Ilyas who was passing by.
Local residents called an Edhi ambulance that took the injured to hospital. Seemab died on the way and doctors said Ahmed and Ilyas were in critical condition.
Seemab’s body has been sent for an autopsy but a case has not been registered so far.
