Judge Mohammad Iqbal Malik handed death sentence to Abdul Wahid who was found guilty of killing Mohammad Taj near Fauji Foundation in the police lines area some four years ago over a marriage dispute.
The convict will also have to pay Rs100,000 fine as compensation money to the heirs of the deceased and in case of non-payment, he would have to undergo six months imprisonment. The court acquitted three other accused — Abdul Nasir, Abdul Hafeez and Mohammad Azam — in the case due to lack of evidence.
