Peshawar: Murder suspect couple to be remanded in police custody
PESHAWAR: A local court granted the physical remand of lovers – Gulnaz Bahdar, a resident of Khushal Town Peshawar, and her Afghan lover Azat Khan – to police for their alleged involvement in a murder. The lovers are accused of murdering Murad Khan, another lover of Gulnaz.
Judicial Magistrate Naimatullah Shah granted the physical remand of Gulnaz and Azat to the police on Wednesday. The police said that Gulnaz was having love affairs with Azat, the afghan, and Murad, a local youth, at the same time. However, the girl got fed up with Murad and killed him with the help of her Afghan lover on Tuesday, the police added. After the incident, the police arrested the lovers and produced them in the court for physical remand on Wednesday, which was granted.
Meanwhile, the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) issued a nonbailable warrant of three police officers, Inspector Shah Jehan, former SHO Mushtaq, and ASI Said Rehman Khan, for non-compliance with the court orders and directed the police to produce them before the court on March 26. When ATC Judge Shamshir Ali Khan started hearing of a case on Wednesday, all three police officers, who were witnesses in the case, were absent. The court had repeatedly issued notices to the three police officers for recording their statements in the case, but they did not appear before the court.
