Islamabad: 10 robbery gangs busted
ISLAMABAD: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the capital police has busted 10 inter-provincial gangs allegedly involved in robbery cases and arrested 22 members of the gangs.
According to a press release, Rs 10 million stolen properties including foreign currency, ornaments, 21 mobiles, six DVDs, three computers and camera besides 11 pistols and cartridges were also recovered from the culprits.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Kaleem Imam and Superintendent of Police (SP), West, Dr Moeen Masood had constituted a special CIA team to investigate all the cases transferred to the CIA and arrest the people involved in the heinous crimes.
Those arrested were Muhammad Jamee, Ahsan Athar, Muhammad Naveed, Abdul Qahar, Muhammad Mumtaz, Aftab Ahmed, Zaib, Shakeel Qureshi, Waseem Sadiq, Khwaja Khurshid, Awal Khan, Muhammad Arif, Abrar Hussain, Irfan, Rafiq, Muhammad Irshad, Aalam Muhammad Arif, Mehmood Ahmed, Muhammad Musa, Ijaz, Sagheer Ahmed and Ahsanullah.
Later, the SSP handed over the stolen things to the complainants at a ceremony.
