Karachi: Two shot dead
KARACHI: A woman was killedand her husband was injured when unidentified assailants open fired on their jeep within the jurisdiction of Chakiwara Police Station. Also, a security guard was shot dead in Baldia Town.
Nineteen-year-old Rekha Kumari and Naresh Kumar were brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where she was declared dead. According to Chakiwara’s SHO Abid Tanoli, Naresh is a businessman. He has been married to Rekha for three years and is a father of one. He was going to meet his mother who lives at Baghdadi, Lyari, along with his family in his jeep (BB-7070). Near Lucky Star, Mira Naka, some unidentified assailants opened fire on them. A bullet went through Rekha’s neck and into Naresh’s shoulder. The SHO said that witnesses in Lyari refused to help the police and that none of the victim’s valuables were taken.
Security guard shot dead. The body of 70-year-old Abdul Murjaan was rushed to civil hospital from an area under the jurisdiction of Mochko Police Station. According to DSP Shafi Rind, the deceased was a security guard of a private company and was deployed at a well known hospital’s laboratory in sector 9-D, Baldia town. Murjaan hailed from South Waziristan and was living at Nawab Colony, Baldia. The assailants killed him on the spot.
