Lahore: Four carjackers arrested
LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorways Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four members of an inter-provincial car lifters gang and seized illegal weapons and a car from them. The NH&MP control room received a call about the robbers who snatched a car (LEA-1552-08) at gunpoint form Pakpattan. NH&MP Patrolling Officer Yasir Zulfiqar Butt and Rana Imtiaz spotted the car at Manga Mandi Bypass and signaled the driver to stop, but the driver did not.
The patrolling officers chased the car and stopped it near Sundar and arrested Ali Khan (Pakpattan), Fahad (Pakpattan), Muhammad Arshad (Sahiwal) and Niaz Ahmad (Sahiwal). On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Shoaib Dastgir, the accused, along with the recovered car, were handed over to the local police. Interestingly, the Mujahid Squad also claimed to have arrested the same car lifters from near Sundar.
