Karachi: Zardari artifacts case adjourned
KARACHI: The hearing of the artifacts smuggling case, commonly known as the container case, against PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was adjourned till May 24 by the Special Federal Anti–Corruption Court (Central II) presided over by judge Shaukat Ali Memon.
Earlier, when the case was called, counsel for the accused Shahadat Awan advocate, informed it that Zardari was busy in Islamabad with the formation of a coalition government with the PPPP. He prayed the court to condone his absence. The case pertains to the alleged smuggling of eight heavy wooden boxes containing artifacts, including centuries-old swords, gems and other precious items.
