Police arrest 8 POs in Badabher, Mattani areas
PESHAWAR: Rural police arrested eight proclaimed offenders (POs) and other criminals in an operation in the Badabher and Mattani areas of the city on Thursday.
Rural Circle SP Nasirul Mulk Bangash told reporters that the Rural Circle Police aided by three platoons of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) and armed personnel carriers (APCs) carried out an operation in 13 villages of Badabher and Mattani which are notorious for crimes. He said the operation lasted nearly six hours, during which police arrested eight POs and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.
The SP said the criminals had established dens in these areas, adding that the police had successfully cleared the area of such elements. The police have established 17 check posts in the area bordering the semi-tribal Darra Adamkhel, and police personnel have been equipped with sophisticated weapons. The number of police in the area has also been increased, the SP said.
