Ex-UC Nazim among five killed in Swat
MINGORA: Five persons, including a former union council Nazim, were killed in fresh violence in the restive Swat Valley on Thursday. The sources said an influential person of Ningwalai, Musa Khan, was shot dead by unidentified assailants as soon as he stepped out of the mosque after the Isha prayers. A passerby, Islam Gul, also sustained injuries in the incident.
Unidentified gunmen also opened fire on former union council Nazim, Muhammad Amin, and his three friends when they were on their way back home after shifting the body of Musa Khan to the Saidu Sharif Hospital. “All of them died on the spot,” the sources said.
The other three victims were identified as Tahir Jan, Nawab and Yahya Khan. Due to the curfew, the bodies were shifted to their houses hours after the incident. The Taliban loyal to Maulana Fazlullah claimed responsibility for the killing of Musa Khan but did not own the attack on Muhammad Amin.
