Rawalpindi: Child recovered, two held
RAWALPINDI: Police on Saturday recovered Muhammad Umar, 5, and arrested two kidnappers, City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz told a press conference here.
Aziz said the kidnappers were traced with the help of mobile tracking system and the child was recovered from the custody of Misal Khan and Ahsanullah without paying Rs five million ransom.
He said Umar`s father Inaytullah lodged a report with Pirwadhi police stating that his son Umar and his cousin Ahsanullah had gone missing after a marriage ceremony in Mehar Colony on February 15.
“Inaytullah received phone calls from the kidnappers asking him to pay Rs five million for the safe recovery of his son. The kidnappers also threatened to kill his child if the matter was reported to the police,” said the CPO.
He said a special police team under the supervision Rawal Town Superintendent of Police Khurram Shehzad was constituted for the safe recovery of the child.
The CPO said during investigation Misal Khan revealed that he and his accomplices Raham Nawab and Khan Nawab had planned to kidnap Umar with the help of Ahsanullah who was working at Umar`s home.
