Islamabad: 50 suspects arrested in capital
ISLAMABAD: The police arrested over 50 suspects in the capital over the last one week, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Kaleem Imam said in a press statement.
He also directed all the station house officers (SHOs) to make ongoing search operation more effective by keeping vigil on the suspects and enhance security measures at exit and entry points of the city.
Police arrest 16 outlaws Meanwhile, the police arrested 16 persons on the charges of theft, kidnapping, drug trafficking and possession of illegal weapons. Police also recovered unlicenced arms, drugs and stolen goods from them.
A police team, headed by Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) chief, arrested the accused Jamil Ahmad, Ashfaq Hussain and Waqas Bhatti from Rawalpindi. These three had made off with jewellery worth millions of rupees and cash from a house located in Sector I-101.
Margalla Police arrested Fazal Rabi, Khaliq Dad, Rahem Gull and Abdul Khalil from Peshawar who had allegedly kidnapped Muhammad Nadeem along with his car for Rs five million ransom.
Industrial Area Police arrested Ashfaq, Aqeel Khan and Peer Muhammad on the charges of stealing the cable. They also took Raheem and Muhabatullah into custody and recovered illegal weapons from their possession.
Koral Police arrested Ali Hussain, Golra Police Muhammad Iqbal, Shahzad Town Police Ameer Khan and Bhara Kahu Police Fayaz Ahmad and seized illegal weapons and drugs.
