Rawalpindi: Three robber cops arrested
RAWALPINDI: Three policemen deputed at Saddar Barooni police station have been arrested on the charge of looting a citizen, said a police hand out issued here on Saturday.
The citizen, Sajid Mehmood, approached City Police Officer (CPO) Saud Aziz on Friday complaining that constables Yousaf, Mushtaq, and Azhar had deprived him of Rs 18250 on March 23.
The CPO suspended the three policemen and ordered their immediate arrest. Saddar Barooni police arrested the accused and registered a case against them.
3 fraudsters arrested RA Bazaar police on Friday night arrested three travel agents on the charge of looting people through a deceptive advertisement ‘Free Umrah’, police officials said on Saturday.
The accused Shahzad Ahmad, Shoaib and Rizwan were arrested when they were busy in looting people in the area of Chongi No-22. They were offering ‘Free Umrah’ just for Rs 600 each.
Police also recovered 48 lottery tickets, 77 pamphlets and a cash memo. The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused worked for Ishtiaq Ahmad, a resident of Faisalabad.
Woman found dead The capital police on Saturday found body of a woman in the limits of Kohsar police station.
Police officials told Daily Times that a passerby spotted the body of an unidentified 22-year-old woman near Damen-e-Koh intersection and informed the area police, which shifted it to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy.
They said no marks of torture were found on the body and the death might be caused by poison. A case was registered and investigation started, they added.
