Karachi: Ex-MQM H activist shot dead
KARACHI: A former activist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) was gunned down on Monday within the limits of the Landhi Police Station.
The incident took place when the deceased, Saleem Warsi, 40, was sitting at his electronics shop situated near his house at Babar Market. This was a targeted killing, said SHO Aziz Memon. Two men on a motorcycle opened fire on Warsi. He died on the spot and his body was not taken to any hospital till the filing of this report at 910 p.m. The SHO said that he cannot comment on the affiliation of the deceased with any party.
Meanwhile MQM-H Rabita Committee joint in-charge Akhtar Hussain has claimed that deceased was his party worker. Warsi was a senior activist, a Landhi sector member. Warsi left the party nearly eight years back with party’s permission to be with his family.
