Rawalpindi: Killer gets death sentence
RAWALPINDI: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Masood Akhtar on Friday awarded death sentence and Rs 100,000 fine to Muhammad Ikram, who had been convicted of killing his mother-in-law.
Ikram killed his mother-in-law Kalsoom on November 22, 2005, in the limits of Waris Khan police station. The court also fined the convict Rs 100,000, who was later shifted to Adiala Jail. Additional Sessions Judge Azam Ali awarded one-year imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine to Abbas Ali, who had been convicted of possessing drugs. The Civil Lines police had recovered over one-kg hashish from the convict.
