Lahore: Street crime gang arrested
Lahore: The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) City Division on Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of criminals involved in a number of robberies and street crime, and arrested its five members. According to a handout, a special team headed by CIA Superintendent of Police Chaudhry Masood Aziz, acting on a tip-off, arrested the five members of the Aqeel alias Pava Gang.
The police said that the arrested men had been snatching valuables from people at gunpoint and also had committed robberies. The accused have confessed to 47 such incidents during preliminary interrogation. Around nine cases have also been associated with them in various police stations. The police also recovered Rs 35,000, 10 mobile phones, three television sets, a camera, a bicycle, five pistols and bullets from them. The arrested were identified as Muhammad Aqeel alias Pava, Muhammad Azeem, Muhammad Asif, Khuram Shahzad, and Kashif Ali.
