Lahore: Another 102 criminals arrested
LAHORE: The City Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested another 102 criminals on the fourth day of its drive against proclaimed offenders, and seized a heavy cache of unlicensed weapons from them. According to a statement, police have arrested 1,144 outlaws in four days. A massive crackdown launched in the city against proclaimed offenders and people possessing illegal arms is in full swing.
A number of teams have been constituted for this purpose, comprising all the superintendents of police of the city. The police teams raided a number of hideouts of criminals in the city during the night of April 8-9, arresting 39 proclaimed offenders, 40 court absconders, and 23 target offenders. The police also registered 94 cases of illegal arms and seized 101 pistols, four guns, nine rifles, and 382 bullets. The police also recovered seven stolen motorcycles and eight mobile phones from the arrested. The statement said that Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Tasadduq Hussain and Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr Tariq Khokhar were supervising the campaign.
