Islamabad: Two escape from police custody
ISLAMABAD: Two people allegedly involved in fraud cases escaped from police custody at District Courts on Friday. Police officials told Daily Times that Hassan and Javed were wanted in various fraud cases registered with Industrial Area and Abapra police stations.
The two overpowered the police officials who were escorting them to the judicial lockup after court hearing into their cases and escaped.
It has been learnt that the first information report of the case has been lodged against the two policemen from whose custody the alleged criminals ran away. The two policemen in question have also been arrested.
Public conciliatory committees Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Kaleem Imam on Friday directed the public conciliatory committees (PCCs) to visit the local communities and solve their problems on their doorstep. He said this while presiding over a meeting of pubic conciliatory committees. SP West Dr Moeen Masood, human rights officers and other high officials of capital police attended the meeting, said a press release.
Imam directed the members of PCCs to solve the problems of local communities and ensure protection of human rights in letter and spirit. Complaints of citizens should be addressed on top priority and any negligence would not be tolerated, he said.
