Kafila murder case: Verdict on ex-minister’s bail plea likely today
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam is likely to announce verdict on a bail plea of former communications minister Shahid Jamil Qureshi today (Monday). Advocates Wasim Sajjad and Omar Hassan Sajjad, counsel for the defendant, and Advocate Qasim Chauhan, counsel for the respondents, had concluded arguments on Friday.
The former minister was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of Kafila Siddiqui, 38-year-old Canadian national of Pakistani origin and businesswoman, on June 9 last year. Siddiqui was found dead in the accused’s home in Sector G-113. Shalimar Police had arrested Qureshi after registering a murder case against him on the application of deceased’s brother Mustafa Siddiqui.
