Lahore: Man killed over money
LAHORE: A man was allegedly killed by his friends after throwing him from the Garhi Shahu Bridge over money in the Mughalpura police precinct on Tuesday. Asghar, a resident of Defence Housing Authority, said his younger brother, Asif, had been settled in London for the last few years.
He said Asif was in Pakistan since 2007 and was planning to return to London. He said Asif had gone to Islamabad two days ago to confirm his tickets. On his return from Islamabad, he said, some friends had called Asif on his cell phone and later took him to an unknown place where they intoxicated him to bereave him of money. Later, they had taken Asif to Garhi Shahu Bridge on a motorcycle and threw him from the bridge. “One of his friends called me on my cell phone and informed that my brother lost his balance and fell down from the bridge,” Asghar said. He said he had rushed Asif to Mayo Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy, but no case was registered till the filing of this report (12am).
