Two police officers suspended after CM’s surprise visit
LAHORE: Two officials of Kahna police station were suspended, as disciplinary action, after Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa paid a surprise visit to the police station on Wednesday.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Malik Muhammad Iqbal suspended Kahna Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Muhammad Sharif Sindhu and Moharir Head Constable Muhammad Ilyas with immediate effect on account of inefficiency, and lack of interest in performing their duties. The CM paid a surprise visit to Kahna police station and found that a majority of the police officers were in plain clothes, including the SHO. They said that the SHO slipped from the police station after seeing the chief minister, who visited all rooms, and took a note of irregularities, and ordered the CCPO to take disciplinary action against inefficient personnel. Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) (investigation) Chaudhry Tassaduq Hussain has suspended two sub-inspectors – Jaffar Khan and Sher Muhammad – of the Investigation Wing of Nishtar Colony police station due to misconduct.
