Karachi: FIR against five MQM activists
KARACHI: The Clifton police, on behalf of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) local leader Najmi Alam, registered on Thursday an attempt-to-murder case against five activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). FIR No. 78/08 was registered in the case.
According to on-duty policeman Ghulam Ali, Alam, who contested for the provincial assembly seat from constituency 112 but lost, said in his statement that he is a resident of Badar Commercial and was going to his office with his associates in his new car when MQM activists Ikhlaq, Naveed, Arif Katchi and two others opened fire on him near his office. He said their intention was to kill him.
