Lahore: Ijaz Ahmed’s fraud case registered
LAHORE: The Race Course police have registered a fraud case against the Burewala naib nazim and his cousin after three years of complaint by former cricketer Ijaz Ahmed.
On April 15, District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum orders the police to register a case against naib nazim Usman Ahmed and his cousin Zafar Mehmood. According to the FIR (first information report), the former cricketer invested Rs 18 million in the business of Usman Ahmed and Zafar Mehmood.
Three years ago, Ijaz demanded his money back, over which they returned Rs 4 million in cash and cheques of different dates for the remaining amount. However, all the cheque bounced, at which Ijaz contacted the police, but they did not register the case. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Yaqoob, the investigating officer of the case, said that the police had raided the residence of the accused, but no one was there. He said that the police would soon arrest the culprits.
