2 killed in Dera mine explosion
QUETTA: Two security personnel were killed and one was injured in a landmine blast in Balochistan’s volatile Dera Bugti district on Friday morning. A paramilitary force vehicle was on routine patrol in Thoba Nothani locality of the district when it hit a landmine. The names of the injured and the deceased could not be ascertained. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Also on Friday, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned Baloch separatist group, claimed the responsibility for the killing of a policeman in Quetta on Thursday, and warned that it would carry out more such attacks in future. Attacks by the BLA have intensified since the new government took over, despite an offer by Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani to resolve differences through dialogue. The BLA has rejected the offer.
