Karachi: MQM activist killed, two injured
KARACHI: Three activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were injured Saturday night within the jurisdiction of Landhi police station. One of them died soon after. The incident took place at Landhi No. 1 when the victims were standing at Chouti market.
Two men on a motorcycle came and opened fired on them, said Landhi Town SP Farrukh Bashir. Police rushed the victims to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, where they were identified as Maqbool, 35, Razzak, 38 and Basit, 28. Maqbool died on the way to hospital and the others are critical. “The Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) is behind the incident,” alleged MQM spokesman Saif Abbas. The victims are members of Landhi unit No. 89. The residents of the area recognized the killers and the FIR will registered on behalf of victims’ families against the MQM-H, he said.
