Lahore: Kidnapped doctor recovered, no culprit arrested so far
LAHORE: The police on Saturday recovered an abducted doctor of the Services Hospital after four days of the incident without paying any ransom. The police said that Professor Dr Muhammad Tayyab was kidnapped for Rs 20 million by unidentified people on April 15 from Naseerabad.
Following the direction of the government to safely recover the renowned eye specialist, Capital City Police Officer Malik Muhammad Iqbal constituted a team comprising CRO SP Zaeem Sheikh Iqbal and others under the supervision of DIG (Investigation) Tasadduq Hussain. The team inspected the spot, hospital, residence and the clinic and interrogated related people. The police also sought help from intelligence agencies and finally got a clue of the kidnappers. The team in co-operation with the agencies exerted pressure on the criminals through different means and finally the criminals released the doctor without ransom. The police, however, could not arrest the kidnappers but teams had been dispatched for their arrest.
