Taliban execute 3 alleged murderers in S Waziristan
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Local Taliban in South Waziristan Agency on Saturday publicly executed three people who had allegedly killed a teenager, Intezar Mehsud, 15, APP reported. Laddha Assistant Political Agent Yayha Wazir confirmed the incident.
The execution took place at Makeen Ada, where the Taliban shot dead the alleged killers. The deceased were identified as Janan Mehsud, Farooq Wazir and an Afghan national who allegedly murdered the boy who belonged to the Bandkhel tribe, after robbing him of Rs 60,000.
The local Taliban held an investigation and subsequently executed the “criminals”.
Elsewhere in Miranshah Bazaar, the Taliban paraded two alleged thieves through the bazaar in a pick-up truck after painting their faces black and shaving their heads, according to a Daily Times staff report quoting eyewitnesses.
The “thieves” were forced to shout, “Whoever will steal and disobey their parents will get similar punishment.”
A Taliban commander who was accompanying the accused said that one of the “thieves” was from Miranshah, while the other was from the Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan Agency.
He alleged that Muhammad Khalid, 30, and Rasool Badshah, 40, robbed people in Afghanistan and that the Taliban had seized four ‘stolen’ vehicles from their possession.
