Lahore: Robbery victim protests against police
LAHORE: A man on Sunday protested against the Mughalpura police along with his seven daughters at the Lahore Press Club. On March 29, robbers stormed into Muhammad Amin’s house and fled with dowry of his seven daughters worth Rs 500,000.
Amin, a national cycling champion, said two robbers barged into his house on March 29 at 4am, locked the inmates in a room and took away Rs 16,000 in cash, 15 tolas of gold ornaments, seven rings, four bangles, six earrings, Rs 35,250 prize bonds and five mobile phones. He said the police had registered a case (222/08). He said the police had so far not been able to recover the looted items. He said he had tried to meet Cantt SP (Investigation) Babar Bakht Qureshi, but to no avail.
