Karachi: Former SC CJ’s daughter robbed
KARACHI: Former chief justice of the Supreme Court, Justice (retd) Sajjad Ali Shah’s daughter Aliya, was attacked by three unidentified gunmen at her residence in Bath Island, Clifton Monday afternoon. FIR No. 128/08 has been lodged at Boat Basin Police Station by her husband Mehdi Shah. Mrs Shah was home, which is located near IG House in a high–security zone, when the men barged into her flat on the third floor.
“I was in my apartment with one maid named Margaret who was washing clothes. The doorbell rang and I thought that my children accompanied by another maid had come from school,” she said. The moment she opened the door the men forced in and while demanding money and valuables, gripped her by the throat. She gave them what she could but by that time her children returned and her 7-year-old son Hussain was held hostage for more cash. “They threatened to take him away,” she said. The men left after taking more valuables and some home appliances. The retired judge reached soon after he heard the news and reportedly contacted IGP Dr Shoaib Suddle but was told he was in a meeting with the chief minister. When the judge called the CM, he was untraceable too, according to a member of the household.
